To fulfill the command of Allah, Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail find out a hidden place outside the village. Then Prophet Ibrahim gently laid down his son Islam according to his dream. He struck his knife down on Islam. Can you imagine the standardness of faith shown by both of them?
Astonighy Prophet Ibrahim opened his eye and in place of his son a lamb got killed and sacrificed. Prophet Ibrahim turned around and his son was standing beside him and smiling. Then both realize that all that thing was a test for them. And the lamb was sacrificed in place of son Ismail by the heavenly direction of Almighty Allah.
It was a test of their faith and both of them succeeded very comfortably. Almighty Allah got very satisfied with the performance and truth of the father and son. For that reason, Almighty Allah provided the holy day as the day of happiness, celebration, faith, demand, and obligations.
Muslims from now and then celebrate the day of success by Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail. Later son Ismail is also acknowledged as a Prophet for his sacrifice and true faith.
