The amazing story of Eid Ul-Adha
This historical moment was described in many different religious scriptures also. According to the Holy Quran, it’s the story of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail. The Bible in Abraham was also mentioned. In the holy book of the Torah, this historical moment was briefly discussed. So, let’s move on to this remarkable story.
Eid ul Adha is a story of the prophet Ibrahim’s sacrifice and obedience to his God. He had an astonishing dream one night. In which the Almighty God is telling him to sacrifice his beloved son Ismail. Then the following night he had seen the same dream again. Just keep in mind Ismail was also a Prophet of Allah.
Can you imagine the pain of sacrificing someone very close to you? Then Prophet Ibrahim realizes that Allah is the controller of all things. And the order of Allah had a good reason. Which may look so cruel in general perception. But Prophet Ibrahim is also pretty convinced about the decision of Allah.
Prophet Ibrahim dearly loved his son Ismail. But he told Ismail about his extraordinary dream. Told son Ismail about the command of Allah, and sacrificing himself for the satisfaction of Allah. Prophet Ibrahim also wanted the answer from his beloved son Ismail.
Prophet Ismail astonishingly replied to do the thing that was commanded in his dream. Furthermore, son Ismail assured his father that he wants to fulfill the dream of his father and the holy command of Almighty Allah as soon as possible. Son Ismail didn’t hesitate and also wanted no further explanation of his father’s dream.
The loyalty and strong faith of Ismail made his father Ibrahim very impressed. Also father Ibrahim was very proud of the dignity, faith, and loyalty of his son. What pure bonding was there between father Ibrahim and son Ismail.
To fulfill the command of Allah, Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail find out a hidden place outside the village. Then Prophet Ibrahim gently laid down his son Islam according to his dream. He struck his knife down on Islam. Can you imagine the standardness of faith shown by both of them?
Astonighy Prophet Ibrahim opened his eye and in place of his son a lamb got killed and sacrificed. Prophet Ibrahim turned around and his son was standing beside him and smiling. Then both realize that all that thing was a test for them. And the lamb was sacrificed in place of son Ismail by the heavenly direction of Almighty Allah.
It was a test of their faith and both of them succeeded very comfortably. Almighty Allah got very satisfied with the performance and truth of the father and son. For that reason, Almighty Allah provided the holy day as the day of happiness, celebration, faith, demand, and obligations.
Muslims from now and then celebrate the day of success by Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail. Later son Ismail is also acknowledged as a Prophet for his sacrifice and true faith.
